Do you ever break your nail down below where it meets the skin. You know, like this
And they get caught on absolutely everything and hurt like a mother? Well I get them all the time and I used to just tear the nail off (it's too low to just clip it) and then it bleeds and you cry and it's just an all around bad day? Ok, maybe that's just me, but luckily I have a solution. All you need is:
Paper (preferably something thin like tissue paper or newspaper, but regular paper will work too)
Super Glue
A Nail Buffer
and Nail Polish
The first step is to put a layer of super glue on your nail over the break. You then cover the super glue with a small bit of paper. Make sure that you put some pressure on the nail so that your nail is even.
Repeat this step a second time (or do as many times as you feel neccessary to stabalize the break)
Now take your buffer and buff the nail so that the paper blends in to the nail. Go ahead and buff the rest of your nails too, because, hey, why not?
Once it is all smoothed out, put on a couple of coats of nail polish. Make sure it is a solid color so that it hides the paper...
And there you go. Good as new and super strong, allowing you to grow your nail out long enough to cut it where the break is. Awesomeness right? Just thought that maybe someone else has had the same problem as me :D

This is GREAT! I JUST broke all my nails... it is always my problem. I grow them out all nice and pretty, spend hours keeping them nice each week and then boom, one breaks and then they all go and I have to start again! Now I don't need to.... I even have a post plained for when they grow longer in a week or so and I will make sure to include a link to this handy tip!
That happens to me all the time too. I hear tea bags are really good to use too.
Wow! I've never heard that before! I'm totally going to try this next time I break my nail. Thanks for sharing!
Ha, how clever! So doing this next time...
My first thought was "oh no she di'ent", but then I thought I'd better check it out before deleting. Wow! That is creative! Who would have ever thought of that. Great job. :)
Brilliant! I have used superglue before, but never thought about adding tissue paper for stability. I will try it the next time I break a nail. :-)
That happens to me all the time! I'm definitely going to have to try this!
Works really good with a piece of a tea bag... have done it many times
What a great solution! I cut my nail to the quick all the time! I just started a link party and I would love it if you would drop in and add your tip! http://imtopsyturvy.com/index.php/2010/07/topsy-turvy-tuesdays-1/
genious! Thanks for sharing!
I used to do this several years ago with teabags (as a previous poster mentioned)... works pretty good and the fibers are a little tougher. Thanks for the reminder!
